Aurelio Escobedo Valdez was born on July 1, 1955, in Rancho Estancia de García, Municipio de Monte Escobedo, Zacatecas, Mexico, and passed away on November 6, 2025, in Huntington Park, California.
Aurelio was a devoted father and grandfather. For 54 years, he worked faithfully at Avila’s El Ranchito in Huntington Park. He took great pride in his work and hated to miss even a single day. After being released from the hospital, he would return to work after resting only a few days. On his last day, he left for work at 5:30 a.m., set up and clocked in at 6:00 a.m., but not feeling well, came home around 6:30 a.m. to rest in bed.
His favorite teams were the Dodgers and the Chivas. He enjoyed betting on games, loved watching baseball with his son Anthony, and soccer with his son-in-law Joel. He especially cherished playing games with his children and grandchildren on Christmas Day. Visiting his family in Mexico always brought him joy—he loved riding around town, spending time in his hometown, and selling his cows.
Aurelio is survived by his wife, Helen Valdez; his son, Anthony Valdez; and his daughters, Yvette Villanueva and Vanessa Silva. He extended the same love and care to his grandchildren, Esmeralda Valdez, Hailey Silva, and Alexander Silva. His siblings—Rafael, Ramona, Melecio, Teresa, Pedro, Luis, Miguel, Martina, and Rubén—will always cherish his memory.
May Aurelio rest in peace.
