Maria De Lourdes Vargas

Maria de Lourdes Vargas was the youngest of five born in the mesmerizing municipio of San Francisco, Quitupan Jalisco, Mexico. Born on November 8, 1972, she was born into a loving family that ultimately had to emigrate.

Coming to The United States at 12, she acclimated as best she could, with perseverance and great intelligence. She had three children, two grandchildren, went to college, maintained a household, and was an exemplary example of responsibility and love.

Fearless in matters of motherhood and career, Maria dedicated her life to helping others. Her work evolved from being a nursing assistant at a convalescent home, working 12 years at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center Psychiatric Unit, to being a Medical Assistant in the underprivileged barrios of Downtown Los Angeles.

She will always be remembered for her generosity, wisdom, and love for cooking and heavy metal. She leaves behind countless friends and an entire family that will continue to cherish her in their hearts. Her unparalleled optimism, joy, humor, and resilience will help carry on a light in everyone she touched. Heaven has reclaimed one of its angels that helped to make this world a better place.

María de Lourdes Vargas fue la menor de cinco hijos, nacida en el fascinante municipio de San Francisco, Quitupan, Jalisco, México. Nacida el 8 de noviembre de 1972, llegó al mundo en el seno de una familia amorosa que finalmente tuvo que emigrar.

Al llegar a los Estados Unidos a los 12 años, se adaptó lo mejor que pudo, con perseverancia y gran inteligencia. Tuvo tres hijos, dos nietos, fue a la universidad, mantuvo un hogar y fue un ejemplo sobresaliente de responsabilidad y amor.

Intrépida en los asuntos de la maternidad y la carrera, María dedicó su vida a ayudar a los demás. Su trabajo evolucionó desde ser asistente de enfermería en un asilo, trabajar 12 años en la Unidad Psiquiátrica del Harbor UCLA Medical Center, hasta convertirse en asistente médica en los barrios desfavorecidos del centro de Los Ángeles.

Siempre será recordada por su generosidad, sabiduría y amor por la cocina y el heavy metal. Deja atrás innumerables amigos y toda una familia que seguirá apreciándola en sus corazones. Su inigualable optimismo, alegría, humor y resiliencia ayudarán a mantener viva una luz en todos aquellos a quienes tocó. El cielo ha reclamado a uno de sus ángeles que ayudó a hacer de este mundo un lugar mejor.
